Ever Heard Of French R&B/Soul?

While listening to Les Nubians perform at SOBs Sunday night, I got to thinking about all the French R&B/soul I used to listen to when I was in college. At first, the French tried to copy America’s style of singing, but after a while they developed their own style, and I was introduced to several very talented artists. I just wanted to share some music from a few of them: Corneille, Gage and Vibe. Corneille and Gage are actually Canadian, with the former achieving international success following the release of two albums. they used to be part of a group called One. Vibe is singer from Paris. I don’t expect you to understand, but I think you’ll at least appreciate these artists for their voices. Enjoy…

Corneille

Corneille – Viens

Gage – L’Homme d’Une Femme

Vibe – Confessions
