On January 13, 2011 sixteen of New Jersey’s rising underground hip-hop talents filled the Turntable Izm Show studio in a gathering for the Gardenstatehiphop.com cypher. The Gardenstatehiphop.com cypher was created to give NJ’s premiere underground hip-hop artists an opportunity to showcase their precious talents to hip-hop lovers worldwide. Due to the lack of popular NJ-based hip-hop artists, Volume One of the Gardenstatehiphop.com cypher exhibits the hidden gems we have in our cities.
Featuring 16 artists from New Jersey (in order):
Round 1: Hasan Salaam, Rasheed Chappell, Silent Knight, Black Irish, Badsport, Johnny 3 Rounds.
Round 2: Deal the Villain, 16 Tha Rebel, Proph, Legz Long, Daniel Joseph.
Round 3: C.F, Mr. Serious, Rhymageddon, Dane the Beautiful Monster, Grayy Ice.
(I hope to see more initiatives like this throughout the year…there are so many other MC’s I could think of who should have the opportunity to participate in something like this!)
