Daft Punk – Interstella 5555

I’ve been in love with Daft Punk since WAY before Busta Rhymes and Kanye West ever thought to sample them. I got put on to Daft Punk while in college, when their first album, Homework, dropped. Been an avid fan ever since…Their second album, Discovery, is my favorite Daft Punk album and one of my favorite albums ever. I used to blast it in my car while driving upstate or while cleaning my room – I think I wore the CD out!

Years later, it warms my heart every time an artist on the indie scene samples Daft Punk – Mic Wilson (formerly known as Prezzure), 6th Sense, 89 the Brainchild and Illustrate have all done a great job of making magic out of what I deem to be already perfect music. So I wanted to share where their inspiration comes from, for those of you who may not know.

Interstella 5555” is an anime film created by Daft Punk and Toei Animation; each song off Discovery has visuals that when put together make up a story. I remember buying this on DVD but I have no idea what happened to it =(

My faves? High Life (!!!), Voyager, Short Circuit, Face to Face & Too Long… Enjoy!
